Queers and geeks gathered at the Timbre Room on the last night of Emerald City Comic Con 2019 for a little fun, a little cosplay, and a whole lotta dancing at the 2019 Qomix: Queer Comicon Party. DJ Joy Ma and DJ Calente Cardwell turned it up on the decks, while Arson Nicki brought it to you on stage, and you all turned it out on the dance floor.

Nightshots: Catharsis

Audience members at The Timbre Room witnessed five artists performing acts of radical self love. The artists were challenged to pull back the curtains on the emotional trauma that inspired their performances. Hosts Lillith and Stasia Coup, along with dance performers The Drama Tops, burlesque artist Britt Brutality, and drag artist Angel Baby Kill Kill Kill each gave us their artistic interpretations of a broken heart, followed by a short, intimate conversation on stage about just what makes their broken hearts tick.

Ten years in the making, Pink Party X, presented by ArenaNet and brought to you by Queerspace Magazine and Queer Geek! Seattle was one for the record books and definitely the queer event to be at during 2018’s PAX West. With so many games, so much dancing, and such great cosplay, it’s gonna be hard to top! Good thing we’ve got another year to figure out how.

Nightshots: Laugh Back

Laugh Back was a hilarious comedy event, curated by Clara Pluton, comprised exclusively of comedians who are immigrants or children of immigrants, to take back the narrative of the immigrant experience and raise money for the NWDC Resistance, a grassroots undocumented led movement that works to end the detention of immigrants and stop all deportations.
