Nark Magazine’s Kevin Kauer dropped a bombshell on Seattleites looking forward to catching a glimpse of the most recent drag diva to snatch the RuPaul crown. Gender Blender, the highlight and kick off to Nark’s weekend of Pride madness and debauchery, is moving from Thursday 6/25 to Wednesday 6/24. It’s also moving down the street from Neumos to Neighbours.
Television, of course.
“Violet Chachki, winner of RuPauls Drag Race, has new LogoTV obligations on our original Thursday date,” said Nark in a post on Nark Magazine. “So, when goddess gives you lemons, you set them on fire and throw them at LogoTV and then move your annual fierce weird and queer fundraiser to a different date.”
The move also spells the loss from the lineup of Drag Race runner-up Ginger Minj. Adore Delano has been added as a replacement. Miss Fame will still be onstage, though, along with local legend and drag star BenDeLaCreme, and a host of local queens.
This is the fifth year Nark has put on this Pride extravaganza, and it’s for a good cause. As with the past few years, the party is a benefit for Gay City, one of Seattle’s premier LGBTQ non-profits. Nark has raised nearly $20k for Gay City over the past three years, and hopes to top that mark with this event.
If you’ve already purchased tickets through Neumos, they’ll still be honored at Neighbours. If you need a refund, contact Neumos. Don’t delay, though, because they’ll stop giving out refunds this Saturday morning.
Nark Magazine and Sinfinite Events have announced the Ginger Minj will be appearing with Bianca Del Rio at The Baltic Room on Thursday, June 26 for Later Hater, following Bianca’s Rolodex of Hate show at the Egyptian earlier that evening. Tickets, which will only be available at the door, will be $10 for General Admission and $20 for VIP, which includes mezzanine access, meet & greet and photos with Ginger Minj, and other fun perks.
Gender Blender ticket holders get in for only $7, and Nark Magazine Pridefest Weekend Pass holders get in for free. Otherwise, you’d better line up early for this one.
