The latest RuPaul’s Drag Race cast was announced last night during Logo TV’s NewNowNext Awards. To almost no one’s surprise, the cast for Season 8 included a familiar face from the Seattle Drag Scene: Miss Robbie Turner.

Turner, who’s cover story during the filming of the show last summer was a mysteriously debilitating broken ankle, joins eleven other queens from around to country to compete in the newest season of RuPaul’s drag competition. The current season will be celebrating 100 episodes of the hit show, and the 100 queens from the show’s eight seasons.

Where are the Big Girls?

Season 8 is the third season to include a Seattle queen. Other cast members hail from the usual spots, including Chicago, New York, and, of course, Puerto Rico. While the new cast does represent a variety of ethnic backgrounds, suspiciously absent from the roster are any “big girls.”

Robbie Turner will undoubted announce a Monday night viewing party for the new season soon. In the meantime, you can catch the queen hosting Gay City and Three Dollar Bill Cinema’s gala 11th Annual Academy Awards Party on Sunday, Feb 28 at Seattle Cinerama. Find tickets and info at gaycity.org/oscars.

The new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race premieres on Monday, March 7 on Logo TV.
